  6. From the UK here....drivers here always gets in their head 10,000miles or 12,000miles oil changes FACT & their cars sound like a bag of nails! Worked in some garages in my time even back in the 90's with 8yr old cars with 90,000m they sound real bad! Use cheap oil too to keep the cost down. NEVER more than 6,500m ech oil change.

  7. I do this....after an oil service i change it again in 6mths,then in 6mths,then a year...6mths,6mths then a year and the cycle continues,. You get the idea. I've always use branded name oil. I'm from the UK and many don't look after their engines at all! Many use cheap filters & oil from the parts store,like a filter will be £4.50 & oil £22,rarely branded named oil EVERY year not 6 months & the miles usually every 8-10,000m,if they do 12,000m a year then that's the number/figure it's done...crazy! I've seen cars at 10yrs old about 100,000miles sound like a bag of nails!

  8. Yup! That's good, i rarely go over 5,000m myself & v.rarely indeed over 6,000m, oil is still good 3-4,000m.

  11. I'm from the UK & used genuine Toyota FE CVT fluid at a cost of £70,3yrs ago it was £60....i checked the price of Valvoline Maxlife it's £41 😮 BUT it's doesn't mention CVT FE just the ATF T-4, so i won't be using that.

Here in the UK it's not often to see 20yr old cars but early 90's are more rare, 80's cars are like hens teeth & worth a lot on certain models, they'll only be seen if going to a car/historic events. Road tax are free on certain vehicles over 30yrs old. Some cars in the 2000's (Like 146g/km) the road tax are like £255 a year! My 2015 Yaris 1.3L is £35 EURO5 (@114g/Km) our government classed them as Euro5, so in the 2000's the were Euro 3 or 4. It's all about the emissions. g/km = grams per kilometre. Older & bigger the car the is the higher the g/km & more road tax. So people are selling old cars now or scrapping them to make way for newer cars....but recently road tax changed, a tiny engine like a 1.0 litre 4 cylinder would be £175 if it's 100g/kn or less & some models go over that. It's a con. Also we have the ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone) PLUS LEZ (Low Emission Zone) in London & around the UK. No wonder why British owners don't service their cars. Many here think it's 10 or 12,000m for a service as car selling platforms/dealers say the average miles drivers do is 12,000m a year! So a 5yr old car with 80,000m has above ave miles like over 30,000m higher than ave so the price of it is much less ar car dealers/private selling.

UK viewer here & new subscriber, i'm no mechanic by far but watch many YT vids to get me to know more about servicing. 15yrs ago i got a cheapish small tool set with some extra useful tools (still going well today) & now i do my engine oil,CVT fluid & front brake pads on my 2015 1.3L Yaris CVT....i don't go much beyond. Got a very good local Jap specialist that i use. Just did my CVT fluid today after the last 4yr change. I use a garden hose pipe & funnel to fill it up,the fill bolt on a 1.3L can easily be done in the engine bay & it's 2.2L each drain. Toyota genuine FE 5L fluid here is £72 ebay, 4yrs ago £65. My local market sells loose tools & got a 23mm spanner for a couple of quid (£2). I get 59MPG which is amazing, the 6speed manual gets the same fuel consumption.

Here in the UK it's rare to see 20yr old cars here,cars in the early 90's will always be admired as it was the days we drove them,wrote them off,crashed in a brick wall etc & they're worth some money now i tell ya!. 80's cars are worth a lot on certain modesl,they'll only be seen if going to an historic event.

Filter about £4.50 & oil £22....and change it EVERY year at about 10,000 miles! If they do 8,000miles then that's the figure/number they go by. V.rarely indeed every 6 months, i've seen cars that sound like a bag of nails at 10yrs! Ave 100,000miles it's awful. V.few get branded/names oil.
