Project Daily I totally agree and if you wait too long with age/mileage some say don't change it it'll screw it up with all that gunk inside it.Change it way before 100k so the gunk won't be there and cause the problem, the problem is not changing it.

Great details and advice.

CeceMA05 For a 14 year old vehicle YES! It's age or milage and in this case it's age 1st as it's nearly 15yrs since a oil change. aztekkthundergod says "Way too early for that." is wrong imo because it's way over 10yrs old and oil that old will not do any good.Old oil as we now will cause rubbers, seals and plastics to deterioate ie crack/go hard.My car is a Yaris 2002 85,000 miles i changed mine in 2003 and then yesterday so it roughly around 10 years as i only do 3,000 a year.Keep oil clean and you'll get no gunk build up and it's gunk that causes problems.

I did my mothers Vauxhall astra 1996 power steering fluid with 57k and was shocked as it looked like the middle 3.16s also the transmission.Worth changing every 60k ideally.
