I moved from WY to CA last December. Kids started in-person school in August in WY. There were several incidents of covid, but the protocol was to isolate those involved, and not shutting down the entire school. Worked fine. And at least here in the Bay Area, the only difference in shut down I see is the schools. Everything else is just like in Wyoming . So the talking point of CA being on extreme shutdown is just a myth. I was in Napa last weekend and the place was alive, many people having a great time.
