  1. I moved from CA to FL after living in CA for 2 years. I thought I was going to save big, but realized that nothing changed. I was paying the same as in CA . Left FL after 18 months, now in Tokyo with a cost of living half of Florida’s. Should’ve done this years ago.

  2.  @mkaberli  I was clueless, lol. The only thing cheaper was gas. CA was $5 when I left and FL was $3.09. But in CA I only had to fill the tank once a week, and in FL it was twice a week. So it cost more in FL. I moved from Vacaville CA to Fort Walton Beach FL.

  4.  @boondoggle4820  My Wife and I both have a military retirement pension, so it’s very easy for us to live anywhere. But I do know a lot of Americans that have jobs here in Tokyo either with a local employer or with the US Government. And they don’t want to ever leave . The quality of life here and the culture are the perfect fit for me.

  6.  @dngrwllrbnsn_  I have lived in 🇩🇪 🇨🇦🇰🇷 🇵🇭 🇵🇷 🇯🇵. Also in 8 different States in the US. I stopped believing that US was the best Country since 1998. It was my first exposure to the outside world (Europe), and I then realized our US culture was about 250 years behind in becoming a functional civil society.

  10.  @Thewatcherinthering336  Please Read all the comments before posting . I gave specific examples. I moved from Vacaville CA to the Fort Walton Beach FL area. Cost of living was the same as CA, but without any amenities. At least in CA you can see why things are expensive. But in FL it made no sense to live with CA prices and nothing to justify the costs.
