  2. Too bad NC taxes military retirement. Wife and I will be each military retired this year....looking into moving to States that don't take our pension.

  3.  @TheDoorman55  What? This changes everything! I had looked at a few sites that did not list NC as a State that didn't tax military retirement . I looked again after reading your post....and it does have an exemption (5 years after 1989). Wow! Thank You!
