  1. The automotive industry pushed and lobbied for car favorable projects, over mass transportation ones. It's well documented. It's how we also got suburbs developed away from urban areas, and poorly planned.

  4.  @johnperic6860  Its sad...China built their system in 20 years. We could've been so far ahead. I've lived in Europe and South Korea.... both have very good train systems.

  5.  @johnperic6860  Now it does...I had to read your post before the reply to me. Yes...I agree....I'm from Manhattan.....and the lobbying was against transnational systems, long distance. Local mass transportation was already in place.
