They can keep the Federal Government facilities as District and the rest of the areas where people actually live can be the State.

  4. I live in Wyoming....due to military assignment. My wife and I can trace our individual family tree 5 generations back due to known family history. She is Pacific Islander. I'm Caribbean. We both did the DNA test to see how wrong it would be. It actually pinpointed our places of origin exactly how we already knew them.

  7. Income tax is just one tax of many type of taxes. PR does not pay 1 tax, but does overpays others, pays the same as the 50 states on others, and way overpays on tax loopholes that allows for escape of revenues from PR.

  11. Agree. It's like all the US sanctions and embargoes against other countries. It makes people more dependent of the regime the US is sanctioning because the people are the ones that suffer from sanctions, and the regime is their only sustainment.

  21. Easy to answer.... Because its 100% up to Congress. They can vote at any moment....like right now .....and with simple majority, they can make any Territory a state, a free country, or cede it to another country. Consultation of the inhabitants of the Territories is not required or needed, per US Supreme Court Insular Cases decision of 1901. The law has not changed since.

  31.  @scottmolnar4132  See comment above. Only tax not paid by PR is Federal Income tax. PR does pay same amount of some other taxes as the 50...like SS/Medicaid/FEMA, etc. PR does overpay way more on several other taxes than the 50 states.

  33.  @scottmolnar4132  I live in Wyoming. PR pays more Federal Income tax than 6 states. WY, SD, ND, MT, AK, VT. And the taxes that are higher than 48 states are the ones related to commerce , just like HI and AK. And you can also add the loopholes and tax revenue escape that the IRS allows, as PR is used as a tax shelter.

  42. Eye of Sahara was definitely an important settlement. You can see on a map the catastrophe of water lines going from the Mediterranean all the way to the Atlantic. Nothing could survive that.
