  3. @ In the US, yes it does. People steal a lot on the self checkout. It’s a big problem for retailers.

  4. US culture is the problem. Our culture is all about cheating and scamming and conning. Other countries respect private property and are much more civil. I have lived in countries where you can buy produce by leaving money in a box and taking the item. An honor system.
