Easy....we have 1000 bases around the world and are bombing 9 countries at the moment. Cutting some of that can fund programs that benefit the masses tenfold, and still have leftover money. The current setup benefits the few. That's the issue. Each person has to think if defending the status quo benefits them more than the alternatives.

tiglath pileser I expanded what I meant 3 posts above your post. In the USA...if an economy is not vulture capitalistic like we have ....we call it socialism. People here love simple terms. Good/bad...black/white...etc. Not understanding that there are many forms of capitalism.

I see a rise of common sense in the USA as more and more people live and travel abroad, learning that there are better ways to do things in government.

@michaeltyler6220 In the USA?....no. But all these new ideas that people see working for decades in other countries will always face opposition. We are raised thinking that everything in the USA is perfect and better. When people realize it's not the case, the fall into shock and resistance to any changes of their implanted beliefs.

@ericpine2520 AOC is just a representative of a few city blocks. I'm from Manhattan and really do t understand Fox's infatuation with her. She would've been in unknown representative like those in Idaho Montana etc if people didn't get so triggered. Back to the point.....our existing laws and regulations wouldn't change....so the same regulations that are used to audit social security and Medicare/caid, would be used to continue to do the same. Right now the middle man (insurance companies) is pocketing all the money and there is little oversight. My wife and I are both military and work in the medical field. We are under socialized healthcare. The taxpayer money that gets stolen is done by contractors like Cardinal, Amerisource, Humana, etc. Doesn't get stolen by us the health providers or the patients.
