  2. Yes...the fed is a private bank....but when the dollar is the dominating currency....the interest rates set by the fed have a GLOBAL ripple effect. And yes...other central banks do print money...but it has direct effects on the respective countries. The fed creates money out of thin air and then uses QE to hide the effects.
