I work in the pharmaceutical industry in the USA.....saw this entire opioid crisis develop. It was easily predictable. But money always wins over common sense. I remember questioning so many prescriptions for oxy, percocet, vicodin, that could be easily replaced with tylenol 325 or advil.....but nooooo.....Dr wrote it....and the patients would never take the word of pharmacy over the Dr's. And when we would blacklist a patient abusing the system....they would just get their prescription somewhere else easily.

@aidenw207 Exactly. I always had socialized medicine due to being in the US military. Its crazy to see people in the US file for bankruptcy just because of healthcare bills.

In the USA...health is a for profit entity. People enriching themselves with the current system will never allow it to change.

@yugiohpokemon5285 Pokemon...I work in the health industry in the USA....in the military.....and I know how it works in the civilian sector since we have interact with them many times every day.
