I've never heard any former Speaker of the House addressed as "speaker emeritus" (or "speaker emerita" in this case), but the fact that Pelosi insists on reminding people that she "was" Speaker proves what I've been saying: she never stepped down from the leadership of the Democratic caucus. Hakeem Jeffries is just her puppet. Pelosi, not Jeffries, engineered the coup that ousted Biden as the presidential candidate and installed Kamala. Also, Pelosi is interviewed all the time and Jeffries hardly ever.
