  1. I long ago came to the conclusion that the purpose of the Democratic Party isn't to empower progressive politics; it's to contain and neutralize progressive politics. For eight years, having "liberal" Obama in the White House silence progressive criticism as the Democratic Party died at the local, state and national level, as progressive politics withered. Trump is a gift to progressives because we are once again roused to action and we see now that the Democratic "leaders" like the Clintons, Pelosi, and Schumer are collaborators with the oligarchs (Susan Sarandon is right). Forget about the corporate Democrats and forget about the Democratic party. If progressives broke away and formed a new party with Bernie Sanders at its head, we'd take the country by storm in 2020. Now is our moment. If we let this moment pass us by, another may never come. Act now or lose the future forever. Rise up! You have nothing to lose but your chains! tldr; Corporate Democrats who call themselves "liberals" are playing us for chumps. Don't vote for them. I'm done with them. Never again.
