The other inert masses known as "police officers" sure as hell would've snapped into action if any civilian had tried to stop that cop's assault on Nurse Wubbels: they'd have beaten the hell out of anybody who laid a hand on one of their "brothers in blue". GUARANTEED.

mobaby1979, you should be. I once had a cop try to ram me with his car because he said I jaywalked. He drove his car up onto the sidewalk! I was saved from being seriously injured by some people who pulled me out of the way. He would've run over other pedestrians, as well, including a mother with her baby in a stroller, but they scrambled and got out of the way, too. And I'm a middle-aged white dude. Do NOT bait cops. I assume they are all dangerous and avoid them. You should, too.

You're living in a fantasy world. Nobody's firing Payne and he knows that.

How to stop this: 1. Police pay for liability insurance out of their own pockets; 2. Civilian oversight panels that decide on discipline for the police accused of crimes; 3. Special courts that have prosecutors who don't normally work with cops ("cop court"); 4. Cops who are convicted of crimes have their pensions stripped and are sent to the general prison population like everybody else. None of which is ever going to happen until people snap out of their cop-worship brainwashing and realize NOBODY is safe.

The most important lesson the hospital workers (and everybody else) will take away from this incident is this: the cops can do anything to anyone at any time. They want to rule by fear and this will show that they are, indeed, above the law. The next time anybody wants to say "no" to a cop, this incident will spring up in their minds and they'll say "yes" even when they know it's wrong. If a cop does THIS to a white nurse with his body camera on, what do you think cops do to POC on the streets every day? Do people still think Black Lives Matter is a bunch of far-out militants? Because it looks to me more and more that BLM is telling a truth that needs to be heard.

I can tell you exactly how this will play out: Detective Payne won't be fired and he will retire on the taxpayers' expense. Ms. Wubbels will get a lot of money in a lawsuit and the taxpayers will pay the bill for that, too. Payne will go on to brutalize people (trust me, this cannot be the first time he's abused his authority) and that's just how it is in our cop-worshipping country. Cops don't enforce the law: they ARE the law. Got it now?
