  1. Stef didn't get along with Ron Placone so she fired him. Ron had great timing and was a lot funnier (and always better informed on issues than Jimmy or Stef). But to be on the JD show, you have to kiss Stef's ass, which apparently Kurt does.

I marked the moment when Ron was toast: Stef was spewing nonsense about endorsing "common sense censorship" and Ron blew her argument apart in 10 seconds--I turned to my girlfriend and said "that's it for Ron, he just contradicted Stef, he won't be around much longer". 3 weeks later, Ron was off the show. It's personal, not political. And Stef is such an inept producer that they've had to bring in Mischa to do Stef's job. I don't dislike Kurt, but go back and look at a show with Placone and compare it to now. Ron knew when to speak and when to shut up, and he always had something intelligent and funny to say. You have to have complementary energies: Ron is cool, Jimmy runs hot, but Kurt and Jimmy both run hot--it just doesn't work.
