  1. I had access to Top Secret documents when I was an intelligence officer for the USAF in the 1980s. But not just any documents: the principle was "need to know" and the documents I had access to were vital to my work. A security clearance doesn't mean unlimited or unrestricted access. Airman Texeira had NO "need to know" (not sure what security clearances he had), so I agree, this entire leak (of what may be a mixture of false and correct information) stinks like week-old fish. What appears to have happened here is the so-called "canary trap": A canary trap is a method for exposing an information leak by giving different versions of a sensitive document to each of several suspects and seeing which version gets leaked. Of course the response to the planned leak is "we need more power and control over people" because that's the Deep State's response to everything
