  1. Strongly disagree with the female host that racially offensive terms should be removed and replaced with a blank or euphemism. She clearly hasn't thought this through. Here's why: "Huckleberry Finn" is THE great American novel. Uses the word "nigger" 214 times--and has ALREADY been censored, in 2011. Well, it's only one word, really, but Twain didn't pluck out of the ether--he used the word "nigger" to deliberate effect. "Huckleberry Finn" is, at its heart, an anti-slavery novel and calling black folks "niggers" is dehumanizing--that's the point of the word! As Twain himself said: "The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter – it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning." If an author chooses a word, they choose it FOR A REASON. Altering even one word changes the original, intended meaning. Know how to avoid those offensive words? Just don't read the book.

  2. Justin gets his career back now, right? Right? Nope, he's finished in the business over false allegations. And no consequences for the woman who falsely accused him. Justin Roiland has lost everything--his livelihood, the career he worked so hard to build, his reputation--but nobody gives a damn because hey, he's a white man, and he must have done SOMETHING, right? Because all us hetero white dudes are like that.

  6. NPR made their bed and now they can lie in it. They decided they wanted to go pro-corporate and also become a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. I used to donate automatically to them every month, but I stopped in 2008, which is when NPR started to deliberately betray its viewers. NPR refused to report on Obama the way they did other presidents, and doubled down when Trump became president. I didn't want NPR to be more left-wing or more right-wing, I wanted them to be objective and even-handed, to be on the side of we, the people. And they failed that essential test. NPR can go legs up for all I care. They're nothing to me now.

  9. I'm shocked to learn that people like Kaling who went straight from their parents' suburban mansions to Ivy League schools and then into a coveted job writing scripts don't know anything about men, about women, about life. Who could've seen that coming?

  11. The only reason I keep Netflix is that my sub is paid for as part of my cellphone plan. Netflix isn't worth $5 a month out of pocket and every year, it gets worse and worse. Except for Better Call Saul and The Witcher, can't remember the last time I watched a Netflix show.

  12. Nobody in Hollywood gets fired: they are asked to resign and given a big severance package. The exception to this are heterosexual white males like Justin Roiland, who was fired from Rick and Morty and all of his other projects on the basis of false allegations of domestic abuse. Roiland has been exonerated (the woman accuser lied), but he doesn't get his career back. Some white male privilege, folks.
