  1. I used to go to a bookstore weekly. There was a cute clerk there but I had a girlfriend--but the clerk thought I was interested in her and not buying books. She was very cool to me until I brought my very pretty Japanese girlfriend to an author event. After that, the clerk was suddenly interested in me. No, it wasn't a game, but there's no way I'd be interested in a woman just because she saw I had a girlfriend and therefore had "value". That's not grownups think or act.
