  1. I lived in California for 20+ years. Narcissism Central. A typical (not atypical) first-date question: what are my career prospects, how much do I earn, do I own my own home, etc. Other than my financial/career status, the typical woman showed no interest in me but talked about herself. It was very depressing, which is why I started dating non-American women (lots of those in California) and had a completely different experience.

  2. Most people are narcissists in the US. In other countries, narcissism isn't as rampant and in many cultures, narcissism is actively discouraged.
