  3. Where is Tranq coming from? SF novelist Philip K. Dick anticipated this in "A Scanner Darkly", in which a pharmaceutical company is deliberately hooking people on Substance D to enslave them and thereby control society. Tranq isn't cooked up in somebody's Winnebago or kitchen sink; it's made in mass quantities in pharmaceutical-grade labs. Big Pharma is doing this, but they control the media through their advertising dolalrs, so no one will speak the truth.
