Both of those people are from India, in which cooperation between tech companies and the government to censor dissent is a daily occurrence. It's not an accident that so many Silicon Valley executives are Indians.

Many tech executives are from India, which has a law requiring tech companies to act as an arm of the government. Every tech company is required to have a compliance office to promptly handle internet blocking requests by the Indian government: if it wants a site taken down, it's taken down. Silicon Valley obviously thinks that India holds its future riches, which is why so many tech executives have been recruited from India, but they've brought this state censorship model into American society, with disastrous effects.
