  2. I was a public school teacher for thirty years. If you can--and not everyone can--homeschool your kids. If you must send them to public school, monitor their education carefully and don't be afraid to speak up if you see something wrong.

  4. The problem with "white people need to fix this" is: 1. It gives all of black people's power away to white people; 2. White people are not a monolith--we're divided by class more sharply than any racial group in the country; 3. White people (many of us, not all of us) don't see this as a problem of racism, they see it as a problem with out of control police agencies. Were those five black officers who beat poor Mr. Nichols to death "programmed" to do so by white supremacy? No, they were programmed to do it by police culture, which is increasingly violent and often has a contemptuous disregard for civilian lives and safety.

  6. LBJ's Great Society only provides substantial benefits to single mothers--LBJ, for whatever reason, broke the black family unit. We can reverse this: give the same benefits whether a woman is married or not. Take away the "marriage penalty".
