  2. I apprenticed to a mason who communicated to me that I had mixed up the "mud" (mortar) wrong by flinging a shovel full of it at my face. He also called me some names that would make Marines and sailors blush. But I learned how to lay bricks. I've also worked on farm harvest and construction crews when I was a young man where the foremen yelled at me and cursed at me for making beginner mistakes (tempers get short when you're working in 100+ degree heat for ten hours straight). I was also yelled at by our sergeant in basic training while he was standing literally two inches from my face. Somehow, I managed to escape being traumatized by all those experiences. All I can say is, I hope we never get another Great Depression, because asking for gluten free bread in the soup kitchen is not going to go down well.

You have to remember who staffs these tv jobs--it's not working class kids but the children of wealth and privilege who get those "high prestige" jobs through their parents' business and social connections. No one has ever said "no" to them nor demanded anything of them. Television and film work is very high pressure and no, the little lambs cannot cope any more than a crystal vase could cope being used as a football.

  23. I was a teacher for thirty years. Professionals do NOT discuss their personal lives, especially their sexuality, with students of ANY age. EVER. That crosses a boundary that must exist in order for us teachers to do our job and maintain respect with our students. Did I have students who asked me about such personal issues? Sure, some. Did I answer? No, never. These teachers doing this are a tiny minority but hey, use them to beat up on the entire teaching profession. That's ok, we're used to it, which is why there's now a growing shortage of qualified teachers in the classroom. Nice work golf clap

  26. California basically abolished theirs because dress codes are considered misogynistic and racist. After they abolished the code, girls started wearing just their bras (no tops) and boys started wearing t-shirts with profanity on them. And teachers aren't allowed to cite students for DC violations because there is no dress code. Ironically, the same feminists who complained that dress codes are sexist are now complaining that boys are allowed to wear t-shirts that read "B*****s ain't S**t" and black students who complained that dress codes are racist are faced with t-shirts and backpacks with Confederate flags on them, etc. And they complain to an administration that has no power to do anything. Be careful what you ask for, you might get it.

  40. Are you unfamiliar with the power of the LGBTQ mafia? I retired after 30 years. In my last district, a gay superintendent "cleaned out" the district administration and put gay people in EVERY single position. What are the odds that the most qualified person for every job was LGBTQ? Affirmative action for the Rainbow Nation, and anyone who identifies with them gets a license for all kinds of bad behavior. Public schools are their personal political advocacy/personal therapy space. Oh, and if we happen to educate the kids, that's fine, but it's not their top priority. It's all about them.
