(Here's another long comment no one will read) I was a teacher for thirty years in the US, recently retired. 90% of our severe disciplinary problems involved students being raised by single mothers, even though kids being raised by single mothers were only 25% of students. The U.S. has the world’s highest rate of children living in single-parent households (23%) and it shows in the disintegration of our society: schools are now so chaotic and violent that teachers are under daily physical assault. A six year old child deliberately shot his teacher and it's not the first time such a young child has used a gun at school. The presence of a father in the household is generally a good thing for the well-being of the family as a whole and of children in particular. I tried to be a father figure to as many of my students as possible, but there's only so much you can do in the role of a teacher. Women choosing to raise children without the presence of the children's father are applauded in the States as stunning, brave, independent women--the problem is, it's the children and the rest of the society who pay the price. Our child custody and support system is heavily skewed towards rewarding women for shutting fathers out of their children's lives: the amount of government aid they get as well as the amount of "child support" money from the fathers is greatly increased if the fathers have little to no involvement in their kids' lives.

@bennyandersen742 They haven't been socialized, in other words. That comes from the home: no boundaries are set there so they are confused when they come to school and find there are limits.

@lambastepirate I didn't say it wasn't rare, I said it wasn't the first time it's happened in the USA.

@TimBitts649 Actually, black Americans switched their allegiance from the Republicans (Mr. Lincoln's party) to the Democrats in the 1930s, under FDR. The real shift happened in the 1936 election, considered the first referendum on FDR's New Deal. 52% of white women voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020, but black women vote overwhelmingly Democratic because they know the Democratic Party will keep the gravy train going. Most black conservatives are black men, not women, who have figured out that the welfare state policies have actually destroyed the black nuclear family and weakened the black community.

@doloresaquines The myth of the "deadbeat dad" persists, even though it's WOMEN who file for divorce 90% of the time. 90%. It's WOMEN who are breaking up families, NOT men.

@mjef3695 In my last few years, I spent part of every day counseling and consoling younger teachers who were close to a nervous breakdown because of ungovernable students. They got no support from parents, administrators, or other colleagues. And all of them left the profession. Teaching was always a hard job but now it's become an impossible one.

@mjef3695 Doubtful.

I will quote the American comedian Chris Rock to explain this: "Only women, children, and dogs are loved unconditionally. A man is only loved under the condition that he provides something." A woman can take a man to court and get money from him to "support" a child they've made together, and that is the beginning and end of his usefulness in Western society.

@doloresaquines So it's men's fault that women file for divorce? For what, if anything, is the female half of the human race responsible for? Feminists say that women are strong and empowered but also helpless victims of men. Which is it, then?
