I taught public school in the States for thirty years. In the past few years of my career, we had several students who claimed to be animals and wore cat or dog ears (most were girls claiming to be cats) and they would either meow or bark at people. Not small children but adoelscents. Administration forbade teachers from challenging the students' "chosen identity". The idea that human beings can be animals is utterly mad, but perhaps widespread insanity is what kills civilizations and we're in the final stages.
