I had several direct ancestors killed when fighting on the Union side in the American Civil War; they volunteered to fight because they were slavery abolitionists. To date, my family haven't received reparations for their loss, but better late than never. We will accept a money order or cashier's check for $10 million for each of our slain ancestors, which is a conservative estimate of their lost economic value with interest compounded annually since the 1860s.
