  2. It's a myth that civilization always advances. It often regresses, sometimes for long periods. We are witnessing a regression now. The Age of Enlightenment lasted about 400 years, not bad as such things go. We had a good run. Time to pack it in and ride out this new Dark Ages. I apologize if calling them the new "Dark" Ages is racist, by the way. The Woke Ages perhaps?
