I'm a retired teacher with thirty years of experience. At my last post, I taught in a school where 85% of the students are Jewish, about 5% Muslim, the rest Christian and what-not. The administration cautioned us to be "culturally sensitive" and not to display Christmas decorations nor wish anyone "Merry Christmas" ("Happy Holidays" was preferred). Many of my Jewish and Muslim students wished ME "Merry Christmas" and asked if they could help put up Christmas decorations. Christmas has a religious meaning but also a more ecumenical and secular one: it's a season of goodwill towards ALL people and my non-Christian students felt that and wanted to participate in it. In their minds (and mine), Christmas was a way to express brotherly love, even if you don't believe in Jesus and so forth. And no pinch-minded bureaucrat or politician can EVER regulate that feeling. Full disclosure: I celebrate Festivus and even had a Festivus pole in my classroom. Google "Festivus"--it's a holiday for the rest of us.

@davemiller6893 Best part is the airing of grievances. "I got a lot of problems with you people--and now you're gonna hear about it!"

@gbentley8176 The point is, the vast majority of non-Christians are NOT offended by Christmas. They enjoy it, too, in their own way. Those driving this "don't say Merry/Happy Christmas" movement are just woke liberals afraid of giving the slightest offence. I'm not offended by Hannukah or Ramadan or Eid etc and no one in their right mind should be offended by Christmas.
