I haven't seen the film, but judging it on commercial success is a poor metric at best. Bad marketing has sunk many a good film. The Oscars are an industry award and have precious little to do with artistic merit--it's all about who has "pull" in Hollywood and who doesn't. That's why the awards are considered a bad joke by most of us, and even by many filmmakers (Woody Allen famously declined to attend the ceremony even when he was certain his film "Annie Hall" would win Best Picture and four other Oscars --Woody Allen has won three Oscars for Best Original Screenplay for Annie Hall (1977), Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), and Midnight in Paris (2011), and one for Best Director for Annie Hall, and has never walked the stage to accept any of them--Allen has been nominated 24 times in various categories.)

Simon should just wave the white flag and begin identifying as a black woman named Imani Zulu. The Youtube algorithm would like that. A lot.

It's quite clear that the systemic racism of the Western white patriarchy that has been perpetuated through the Eurocentric global colonialism of cisgendered heterosexual males has resulted in an inequitable distribution of Oscars to the BIPOC (black and indigenous people of color). I mean, there it is, in plain English. I mean gibberish.

No, a black lead actress in "The Grace Kelly Story".

Hispanics outnumber blacks in the US but it's blacks who make all the noise. The squeaky wheel does get the grease.
