  1. How did this movie get made? Simple answer: expectations were low, so the studio let the creative team have free rein. A good movie starts with a good script. Used to be a truism in Hollywood, and then the script became an afterthought, or something for talentless executives to butcher with their "notes". Good movies can be made, if you start with the right script and the suits leave the creative people the hell alone. This Puss In Boots movie is about learning lessons. What lessons did the studios learn from this movie? Probably none. But if this movie is a big box office hit, then maybe executives will recreate the process and let the creative folk do their stuff.
