I was a teacher for thirty years and 95% of the discipline problems from students came in the last five. It goes back to three things: 1. Politicians have thrown discipline codes out the window because the codes are "racist"--teachers and administrators have no power. 2. Parents used to be on our side, now they always take their kids' side, no matter the facts. 3. Kids have been "raised" to be very entitled and disrespectful, and they carry that with them to school. I loved teaching and 95% of my students were wonderful from Year One to Year Thirty. Did you know that 5% of the students cause 95% of the discipline problems in schools? And school staff are powerless to govern them. My advice to anyone considering a teaching career? Don't.

You can't expel students any more. Black parents complained that discipline codes are racist, so we got rid of them. I taught for thirty years and I know the difference between a school that has a discipline code and one that doesn't. What you see in that video is one that doesn't. None of them do now.

YOUTUBE COMMENTERS: Surely that student will be arrested and/or expelled! ME: A black person attacks a white person and you expect consequences? You're new here, aren't you?

Parents insisted their kids have their phones with them all the time "for emergencies" and school administration caved because they're cowards. I taught for thirty years and kids answered and made phone calls (and texted) to parents and friends during class. Teachers in many districts aren't allowed to confiscate the phones and there are no disciplinary consequences because discipline codes are "racist". Me? I taught for thirty years, retired two years ago. I saw it all.
