I was a teacher for 30 years. I was physically attacked or had my life threatened a dozen times in my career. Add on to that hundreds of incidents of verbal abuse from parents and students and the stress level of our profession is high. All of the attacks, threats, and abuse came in the last 10 years. When I started out, and for the longest time, teachers had respect. No more. This is what teachers deal with quite a lot and a big reason why young people aren't becoming teachers. And in anticipation of attacks saying I must have somehow deserved this abuse: No, I was never rude, I just did my job. A freshman girl told me that her father and uncles were waiting for me in the parking lot with baseball bats to break my legs and arms because she got a D in my class. I had to have a police escort to my car. That's the difference between when I started and when I finished teaching. When I started: The kid was in trouble for earning bad grades. When I finished: The teacher was in trouble for "giving" the student bad grades. Every student deserves an A, you see, and anything less is an insult.

The president is limited to two terms. Limit senators to two terms and representatives to six. Twelve years in office is enough and would solve most, if not all, of these "unfit to serve" problems.

There are three crimes where the death penalty should always apply: 1. First degree murder 2. SA 3. This

Had a similar experience in Oakland, California a few years ago, except the woman was upset because there were no pumps open and didn't want to wait until someone pulled away, so she began shouting threats at everyone pumping gas. I saw on the news that night that she'd called a male friend, who showed up and started waving a gun around. We seem to have a lot of people in our country who have zero impulse control and are quick to resort to threats of violence or violence to "solve problems". It didn't used to be this way.

No, aspiring rappers who were just getting their lives together before the racist white patriarchy crushed their hopes and dreams.

And refers to grade three as "a waste of four years of my life".

Cops are special people.

Norwegian immigrants on the rampage again!

@bloodycinephile Most crime is done by the police and by rich folks, though. Rich folks do insider trading, wage theft from employees, etc (no street thug could steal as much as Sam Bankman Fried in ten thousand years of trying, for example). Police "civil forfeiture" (legalized theft) takes in more money than all burglaries and street robberies combined, and most police departments have officers involved in the drug and sex trades one way or another.

They're racist and homophobic. The dogs are just a way to get at the poor man.

@ihsuFM89 I taught teens for thirty years. Retired in 2021. It's not the majority of young people, it's a particular demographic subset.

I was harassed by a crazy neighbor. It is one of the most stressful experiences you can ever have. That's why I rent instead of owning. Only way I'd own a house is if I had some acreage around it.

@jonlangfitt American police are accountable to no one and that's the big problem. We need to rein them in and remind them who they SERVE. Serve, not rule.

I'm sure the sergeant is used to settling arguments at home like that with the missus. Cops have the highest rate of domestic violence of any profession. Studies have found that a minimum of 40 percent of families of officers have experienced some type of domestic violence. That's a MINIMUM.

Let's hope the new chief is over 5'4".

He was yelling at him because he didn't want to get into trouble. His partner just caused potential trouble for both of them.

"First of all, it was 68 roaches, not 70. Get your story straight!"

The sergeant was clearly on steroids, and had "roid rage".

Gen-Z are the dumbest generation so far. It's like "Idiocracy" is a documentary, man.

The other cop wasn't standing up for "what's right", he was worried about getting into trouble. Pay attention.
