  2. Mutual respect is the key to Japanese culture. We've lost that in the US, that sense of honor. I don't think we can get it back.

  3. My Japanese girlfriend took me to Japan for six months during our relationship, and I saw how impoverished the United States. We're NOT a rich country; we're a country with a few very rich people. Yes, the Japanese do have faults, but at least they know who and what they are, and they don't apologize for it. At that time, the Japanese still looked up to the US as its "big brother" but now I think we've lost face in their eyes.
