  9. They've raised the cost of visiting so much that Disney have sent a clear signal they don't want you. Disney wants fewer customers who will pay 500% more to have smaller crowds. Disneyland and Disneyworld are now aiming for the top 10% of income earners as their customers.

  10. Three things about The Witcher: 1. Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra are the only really good actors in The Witcher and have fantastic chemistry together. 2. The actress who plays Ciri (Freya Allen) is just dreadful, and she's been given more and more screen time in Season 2 than Season 1, which is hurting the show. 3. Season 2 devolved into All About Ciri: every single character has to tell us how special Ciri is, Geralt included, and everything revolves around her. I'm not a big of The Chosen One but if y you're going to do that, you need a truly charismatic actor or actress to pull it off. Instead, we get the wooden performance of Freya Allen, who was cast because--well, I assume the casting director is blind and deaf, otherwise I've no explanation. (Allen comes from a very posh background, and we all know how casting directors love their rich boys and girls.)

  12. I know someone highly placed in the Amazon hierarchy--parent of a former student--and he says that Ncuti Gatwa is THE #1 pick to be the new James Bond. And yes, a queer one at that, with gay love scenes etc. 3 picture deal.

  13. I was done with The Witcher before Cavill's departure because the show became Isn't Ciri Special? So Special! in season two. I once timed an episode and found that the average time you had to wait until another character praised Ciri and reassured us that she's special and powerful and special and wonderful and special was four minutes, twenty-two seconds.

  17. I can't go see Wakanda Forever because there's no white people in it and I don't feel represented. Same reason I didn't watch The Woman King or Crazy Rich Asians. I can ONLY watch films in which there's white people as the main characters because I'm a textbook narcissist who can ONLY relate to people who look like me. (I remember watching Boyz in the Hood and the Color Purple a long time ago and then suddenly realizing there were no white main characters in them, so I stopped them halfway through.)

  18. Big problem with Rachel was made very apparent when she appeared at the Oscars with Gal Gadot. It looked like Gal had brought her 13 year old daughter to the ceremony. Gal TOWERED over Rachel. The role was miscast and once that's done, it doesn't get better. Maybe Rachel Zegler was cast as Snow White because Disney wanted a "diverse" actress, or maybe because Rachel gave it up to the right executives (the casting couch is a real thing, still), or maybe "all of the above". But this film was never, ever going to work.
