Arabs give gifts for two reasons: bribes, and to show respect. Trump doesn't take bribes, so the jet is the lavish Arab way of saying "respect".

@mikeyh0 We have two Air Force One replacements in the works, but they won't be finished until 2029, which means Trump can't use them.

@mikeyh0 Air Force One is designed to withstand a nuclear war and to be a command center for the entire US military and government in worst case scenarios. It's a unique, one of a kind high-tech flying fortress, not a commercial airliner. Do you really not know that?
