  1. I honestly think that most Americans would be ok if Governor Noem described being in the military and killing hundreds of human beings, but a dog...well, that's just too much. As for dogs, 1.2 million are euthanized every year in "animal shelters" because people abandoned their pets after the pets became inconvenient. No outcry about that; no call for greater funding or more responsible animal ownership. City folk are far too sentimental about animals. We had a neighbor who had a dog who got a taste for chickens, and rehoming an animal like that is next to impossible, because they're accustomed to hunting for food. If the dog can't find chickens, it'll hunt something else. See those cows out in the pasture? That's where your McDonald's hamburger comes from. Noem's not a hypocrite and a liar, and that's her problem: a good politician has to be both.
