  1. The state capital (Topeka), parts of Overland Park and Wichita, and the two big college towns (Manhattan and Lawrence) are the "blue spots" in the Kansas sea of red. I was a tenured professor in California and in my thirty year career, NEVER made a political statement in class. The students are a captive audience and aren't there to listen to a professor's political rants.
