  1. I did. I defended a young woman from four thugs on a subway. They kicked my ass, including giving me a concussion, a detached retina, and three fractured ribs. Those ribs took months to heal and still ache on rainy days. She didn't even say "thank you" and no one else on the train came to my aid, not even to call the cops. I'll never help another woman again. Chivalry is dead, and women killed it.
