Republicans vs Imperialists. Republicans in the proper sense of the word, not the perverted cult that masquerades as a political party. And it'll also be socialists vs capitalists. Capitalism is killing us and killing our planet. It'll also be an intergenerational struggle. The Millennials have gotten a raw deal and they know it. Not all of us Baby Boomers (I'm one!) are smug and selfish, but a lot of us are. We're standing on the Millennials' necks and they know it. Their time is not yet come, but it will.

The "death tax" only applies to the VERY rich. In other words, 1% of Americans. Somebody has to pay taxes to support our society. The burden will fall heavily on what's left of the middle class (higher taxes) and the poor (cuts in the benefits they need to survive). How about rich people paying MORE in taxes? There's 9 people living in Silicon Valley who have more money than 180 million Americans combined. I think they can pay quite a bit more and not miss it.

Then why do you support Trump's tax plans, Alex? He's cutting taxes on the people in his class (billionaires).

I suspect they'll go with the socialist side. It's to their own benefit. But there's some Gen Xers who have allied themselves with Trump. There aren't any black/white dividing lines here. That's why civil wars are always the bloodiest and most dangerous.

We survived a civil war once before. Sometimes you gotta knock heads together to get stuff done.

Agree, James Fletcher. I'd go a step further: our ruling class (of which Trump is a member) is rotten to the core. Pre-French Revolution aristocratic rotten. What does that mean? As Napoleon once said: "I did not steal the crown. I found it laying in the gutter!"

That's a rebellion, not a civil war. A civil war is organized partisans. If it happens, it'll be split along ideological lines. Look at the 2016 presidential election map and you'll see what I mean.
