  1. In Kansas, the Spanish-speaking LEGAL immigrants are some of the best people we have: they're church-going, family-oriented folk who are very community-minded and friendly. They're hard workers who appreciate the opportunities of the US. I personally know of several Mexican families in our town who came to the US with nothing and now own their own auto shops and roofing firms. Roofing is very hard work but the immigrants aren't afraid of getting their hands dirty. In time, their children may become doctors, lawyers, etc, but knowing how to build and fix things is a good life for sure. Legal immigration makes our country stronger. Illegal immigration weakens it.
