  3. ​ @Matt-xc6sp  and HK would need to explain to the German government what would be the civilian purpose of a 4.6mm pistol. The MR556 is sold in the US with a stainless steel barrel because HK justified the sale by saying it was a target shooting rifle.

  6. AKs are expensive to produce when you're not a state-backed factory using machines paid for decades ago. Modern manufacturing has made the AK somewhat of a relic. Hence the attempt to use cast trunnions and bolts to drive costs down.
