"To me its saying your not getting dirty enough, aka your just in a perfect range lol " - The AR is well sealed against the elements so if you managed to drag it through the dirt so hard you're causing stoppages you should pop the receiver open and deal with whatever has sneaked into the rifle rather than treating it like a UK cuck compliant AR. Because if you managed to do that you might as well cause a blockage on the trigger mechanism which can't go away by pressing the forward assist. As for the gun getting dirty from shooting the AR has been tested to handle thousands of rounds until it needs the bolt wiped or it won't close by itself. We're talking about multiple combat loads worth of ammo.

There was no reason found to add them, but Army officers thought "oh crap you could push the charging handle on older rifles we need to add something to make soldiers feel confident". Sure, the "old theory" that the FA isn't needed is like 5 minutes older than the theory stating it needs it. Big whoop.
