@jasminebebe3455 Not necessarily. Under NODs some BDUs look like white pijamas because you barely see the pattern, the spectrum emitted by the differently colored fabric is very close so all the colors blur together. NODs don't just amplify ambient light but also make some of the IR spectrum visible so unless a particular camo was designed to work under IR it might not.

I actually assumed 77gr Mk262.

@TubeSteakTaco insulation has a critical radius due to the fact that by adding material you increase surface area faster than you increase the linear thickness of said surface, meaning that until that criteria is met adding "insulation" material actually increases heat transfer until you reach critical radius and thus the lower heat conductivity of the material starts acting as resistance. TL;DR - don't worry about it

@The_Gun_Room If you're in a dense and humid jungle you might want to use the environment as your armor instead of sweating to death inside a carrier. If the only cover around is boulders hundreds of yards apart you might want to wear it.

Consider that if you also need to be going in and out of vehicles while wearing your equipment the chest rig is obviously easier to sit with rather than having pouches hanging off your ass. I'm a big fan of belts but they need to be paired with a ruck that won't interfere.

Different kinds of slaying going on.

Lightweight AR-10 simply makes more sense.

@ifell3 just tell the bear to attack the other guys

Or because their intended use is indoors and they never thought about a use case where they would need the range?

@tasjan9190 Plenty of people also crossed the Atlantic on steam boat. We have airliners now. Just because things were done in inconvenient ways in the past doesn't mean you have to inconvenience yourself today. The people who cleared rooms with 20" barrel rifles did not have a choice. People buying their own equipment do.

@tasjan9190 So people buy short rifles for the intended use of home defense where they will only fire at close range to look cool. What they should do is instead copy guns issued to Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't know, seems to me that copying issued guns that might not be useful in your home is more about looking cool than buying short rifles. Fun fact, the dusting off of the M14s cost more money than just adopting new 7.62 NATO rifles. Just pointing out the idiocy of whoever was in charge of that blunder. The SF guys ditched the 16 because they already had 5.56 weapons and saw no need to keep it, bucko. I'm not sure what the SF in Afghanistan has to do with civilians and home defense my bucko but I think trying to copy them is about looking cool despite one's actual needs. Bucko.

@tasjan9190 Whoa whoa whoa you started accusing people of buying things to look cool and now you're advocating for GWOT LARP.
1
@tasjan9190 You called BS on people getting short rifles for short range fights. That's the trend you observed. GWOT is "Global War on Terrorism". It's the well-established term for the conflicts that have happened in the past few decades without trying them to a specific country like Iraq or Afghanistan. Almost nobody seriously uses 7.5" ARs. Most people get 11.5 and above. Who the hell convinced whom? Brands make more money sticking with the same barrel lengths and profiles. Shorter lengths require different production lines due to the incompatibility of the hardware that supports said lengths. The money you'd theoretically save by making more barrels out of the same bar stock you lose to the the different profiles, handguards, gas blocks, etc. Basically your opinion hinges on you having zero experience in management. 3x MSRP? AR parts got cheaper with time, not more expensive. And you're clearing corners in Fallujah and shooting across hills in Afghanistan. Oh wait. You're not. You're also on the internet promoting your own tacticool ideas.

Because almost nobody standardized around bullpups so you're the odd one out if you get one. I'm not big into bullpups but from what I understand the hassle free solution is the Tavor, and I've heard from people I trust that those typically do not make it through classes. That's just what I've heard because there's people who swear by them.
