I have, no joke, seen at least 6-7 claims of proof existing of the Lucas videos being sped up that I replied to asking for said proof and never got an answer. I have no horse on this race so if Lucas is speeding up his videos, too bad. But nobody ever points to the evidence.

Consider the following: you're allowed to change your shooting style depending on what you're trying to do. When you're trying to shoot for speed at targets 20 yards away with a rifle you don't need to apply all of the fundamentals at the same time for the sake of faster recoil recovery.

Most modern reciprocating charging handles are not in one-piece with the bolt. The robustness argument works with the AK where the charging handle is literally forged into the bolt body.
