Considering that the NRA has been backing an ATF re-designation of bumpfire stocks as machine guns and the red flag laws/fix NICS, creating a NVGA would be like handing the governmental regulatory wrath to the whims of the Jack Thompsons, Anita Sarkeesians and gamejournos soyboys of the country.

+Home Wall 1) culture shapes videogames more than videogames shape culture; 2) we don't hold alcohol responsible for crimes committed under the influence, we punish the person who was under the influence; 3) people who play videogames are not more likely to commit crimes, which is the opposite

+Hector Diaz but he's not missing the point. Not only is OP terribly wrong by comparing videogames to alcohol (the correlation between videogames and criminal behaviour is nonexistent), he is also confused about other parameters. It wasn't Call of Duty 4 that caused the US to invade the Middle East, it's the opposite - modern military shooters were made due to the culture of the time. It's also ridiculous to claim that videogames get the blame when movies also glamorize war, gun violence, crime - and don't forget that people tried to claim that metal music would turn us into satanists.

+Hector Diaz but alcohol isn't culture. I can't take a big swig out of a 40oz and become infused with the culture of gangsta rap and start doing drivebys or drink a bottle of Californian red wine and start committing vehicular manslaughter like middle aged white women. The comparison is fucked from the beginning, because independently of the culture or toxicology report people are liable for the crimes they commit. You can't argue that alcohol made you do it/gangsta rap made you do it in court and expect the judge to put alcohol or culture on trial while you get off with a slap in the wrist. "Never mentioned video games." --- blaming things on a discussion about videogames. HHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM thinking emoji "You've never copied your favorite movie/cartoon as a kid?" --- Bruh are you comparing playing cowboys and indians or drawing guns in pieces of paper to murdering? Hell yeah I replicated things - in a safe environment.

+Hector Diaz no, I saw falsehoods that justified statist beliefs being spread on a libertarian channel. How many paragraphs are you on, three? "You come across as incredibly defensive" --- Ya think? Blaming something for the bad things people do is inherently an offensive move. Debunking it is inherently defensive. Would you rather me point the finger at something else unrelated so I can stay in the offense?

+Hector Diaz 1) first you have to assert that the ways we copy media actually translate to violence; 2) alcohol intoxication affects judgement and emotional response which isn't analogous to cultural norms; 3) I mean by lowering inhibition you're essentially proving the point that it's still the person's personality type/impulse control - millions of people get drunk and never commit a crime; 4) I'm not taking this personally, I am stating the facts; 5) if we're not meant to give any shits, why did you give enough of a shit to reply?

+Hector Diaz "proven in a number of studies" [CITATION NEEDED] "he's just giving his solid opinion" --- that's such a poor excuse. We should put meth users in jail. That's just my opinion. It doesn't matter that it's a dumb policy that actually worsens the country, it's an opinion so it can't be question.

+Home Wall and without guns too. Kinda makes the people the common denominator.
