I completely agree. You can't take a society that has a big sense of property rights and monogamy and make them share their partners with strangers. But that wasn't the point of the video. The point is that it works on society with weak perception of property rights or that doesn't recognize ownership at all, where monogamy was never a thing anyone was taught and where every sexual partner knows each other.

Apffffft. Not only that analogy is invalid and doesn't address my poit at all, those are plainly negative things. Is sex has bad as killing children? Why is it assumed that everyone has to marry, that everyone is going to have children and that children will be sexualized? Holy shit.

> However there is overwhelming evidence that explains how marriage is primarily based on an optimal arrangement for the sake of child development I do not oppose that view. But I don't think marriage is an effective tool to promote the security and development of children either. And even if we enforce child support laws, we're mostly making sure men go to prison than actually raise their children.

>Because evolution shows that civilization like that is inferior to ours You know that evolution also takes into account certain things like "acts of God", right? A volcano or a meteorite can wipe out a species that is strong and well adapted and that could form a complex society given time. Just because humans thrived, doesn't mean we're all that great. We have no claws, no fangs and we don't have a thick hide. We're fragile and managed to survive by "lifehacking".

How is my personal sexual preferences the law? I prefer white and asian women. Where is a law saying you can't be attracted to a black woman? There isn't. My point is that not everything has to be a law. Just have no laws that infringe on people's right to choose. Laws that people will break and won't create any victims or hurt anybody. I thought this was a libertarian-oriented channel, but there's a metric ton of statists, pro-big gubment "think of the children" drones and moralists.

Why exactly are you following a libertarian oriented channel if you believe that religion and morals should trump people's rights to do what they want? What "God" said isn't interesting to me. The "Devil" rewarded humans with critical thinking and a life in the real world where they're free to pursuit their desire. The "Devil" doesn't judge us for who we are, punishes bad people and he killed way less people than "God". I am not against religion. I am against religion being the law.

The underlying roots of marriage is people wanting to fuck but they believe they have to get married or they'll be living in sin. Sure, marriage is a great thing for family stability. Except people can get divorced anyway. Marriage should be religious, and the government kept out of it. People will do whatever the fuck they want, we can't pretend that having a moral code or law will prevent people from wanting to ditch their family. I don't necessarily agree with the guy, though.
