You see, because the media painted everything "conservative" and non-republican as "alt-right", and then started using the term to refer to the minority of neo-nazis and white supremacists. Now ancaps, minarchists, libertarians, etc are also neo-nazis by association.

Libertarians aren't asking for importation of foreigners. Libertarians are asking for a smaller state, which would mean greater freedom of travel but also there's no fucking incentive to come to a libertarian state because there's little to no welfare.

Jesus Christ the guy just gave you the proper counter argument and your answer is critiquing Milo for just playing by ear. I agree, he's a mouthpiece for whatever niche he can make money from. But where was Richard Spencer mentioned in his comment? Or Bannon? To say "you'd only be offended at criticism of the alt-right if you're a Nazi" makes my skin crawl because you don't realize, anything that isn't mainstream republican is alt-right. Alternative. Right. They started using that term to refer to everyone under the sun who wasn't left or Republican. Then they started using it against Neo-Nazis and white nationalists so your brain clicks and associates libertarians, ancaps, minarchists, etc with neo-nazi ideals.

+pouseli disosme come on, those travel bans (I know they now changed them to apply to all people rather than just refugees) had been enacted before. I'm not defending them, but it wasn't an implication that they're all terrorists. From a libertarian standpoint it's indefensible but everyone else does it, restricting travel rights from countries you are in conflict with.

Easy, if the libertarians get their state nobody but a libertarian would want to live there.

Alt-right is anything that isn't left but also isn't mainstream Republican. Reason is alt-right. You are alt-right. I am alt-right. Alt-right is the new "teabagger". Oh you're not one of the good little Republicans who play ball? Then you're a tea party lunatic paid off by the Kochs. That was how they rolled until 2012-2013 It's a catch-all term designed so that anything you say is automatically labeled as neo-nazi bullshit. Why don't they just call it "neo-nazi" or "white nationalism"? Because first they implanted the term alt-right and then stained it with neo-nazism. They didn't rebrand themselves to seem more palatable. It was the media that rebranded non-republicant conservatives, libertarians, ancaps, minarchists, etc along with tradnats, natsocs, monarcists and the white nationalist ilk for the perfect one-two knockout.

Paul Gardner alright but did you just say "limited government" and "individual freedom" when you're pretty much asking of the state to grow enough to patrol the borders efficiently and violating individual freedoms by restricting freedom of travel? I don't disrespect your position, but how is your flavour of libertarianism any different from the mainstream Republican party?

+Maui Caui most rapists were indeed abused, though. Or has been that debunked already?

+surrealnumber I think the point is that illegal immigration is illegal for no reason than we say that it should be. Let's face it, if Libertarians and AnCaps are fighting against taxation and the welfare state, how would illegals create a burden on a system that doesn't exist anymore? In our current reality, if it's easier to become a legal citizen it's also easier for the government to dip it's hand in their pockets and basically it becomes harder to work below minimum wage. It's the opposite of bank fraud, it's giving money into the system.

The mainstream media would consider all of you alt-right for subscribing to ReasonTV, libertarianism is alt-right and the term was created exactly to portray anyone who isn't a John McCain Republican as a Neo-nazi. It's like you people forgot the "teabagger" spiel

Libertarians don't win at the ballot box because in time most libertarians see the truth behind the voting system and the lie that is democracy and give up.

"Been a LIBERTARIAN and for open borders = wanting to let in everyone WHO IS INVITED ." That makes no sense, because people don't own the country, only their property. They may not invite or block access to any part of the country that isn't owned by them.

+Indie Media Eastcost still. Denial of freedom of travel is an infringement on individual rights and you're basically saying we need to infringe rights to protect rights. Look, it doesn't matter to me if you're a stakeholder in Apple so you need government protectionism to defend their patent trolling, you can't punish Samsung because you'd earn money on Apple. Same deal, if you're a property owner your decisions matter inside your property but not one inch outside of it. The whole fucking point of libertarianism is that it doesn't fucking matter what values your neighbour holds, he can't do anything about it.

No, alt-right is anything that falls under the right but isn't mainstream Republican. It's a catch-all term. Now they laser-focused it on neo-nazis and white supremacists so that people associate everything that's not bipartisan-friendly Republicanism with Neo Nazis. Say, you don't agree with John McCain or Mitt Romney (the "good" kind of republican who passed state healthcare and assault weapons bans)? You're alt-right. You don't trust CNN? You're an alt-right troll. And by association, a Nazi.

+sykeo123 if the laws aren't being enforced properly (ask any anti-immigration person) then enforcing them will require a bigger legal system to put the offenders through. This means more cops enforcing the law, more jails, more detainees, etc.
