@Sridarsh I don't know who are these "people in the know". I don't know what the briefing was. I don't have time for this X-files crap, it's clear as mud and it's almost like it's designed for the mistery being more gripping than the actual answer. Is JJ Abrams involved?

@Gorrgrim They can't be explained because no evidence is found. If you see a grey shape and I go investigate and it's a grey car, mystery solved. If you see a red shape but by the time I get there the red car drove off, it's unsolved. How does one "see" Mach 9 speeds? Wouldn't it require a radar to measure such speeds?

Read the reports of SOLVED unidentified aerial phenomena. Sane military personnel reported strange sightings, they get investigated, sometimes they get solved, sometimes they don't. The mundane isn't gripping so you are told these tales as if they're out of the ordinary but they aren't.

It was claimed that the object buzzed out of the field of view at very high speed. The targeting pod simply lost track which makes it seem like the object ran away - but the truth is that the object did not change speed, it was the airplane moving forward that caused apparent movement.
