Western Europe is liberal on abortion because we impose limits on it. You can do it, but every country has their own limit. Some 16 weeks, some 20 weeks, etc. In the US there's states with looser regulation on abortion than Europe. We're "liberal" about it because we put our foot down, you can do what you want but don't push our limits.

Russia stagnated under Putin. And Ukraine was slowly but steadily "Westernizing" their government, their economy was held back by the separatist regions being plunged into conflict and poverty.

@Ass_of_Amalek The technology absolutely isn't there. We still haven't figured out trucking or air travel. Even if we go all in on "green hydrogen"/"green nitric acid" we'd still need to build more generation capacity because those are energy intensive processes with low efficiency.

@engin3ar It's not an exception. Skill, experience and wisdom go a long way. Mirko Cro Cop retired at 45 so it's not uncommon for people to have fight in them until late in life. It's also worth nothing that boxers tend to do better in boxing than people who do kickboxing or MMA (no surprise there). Save for some kind of health problems, in a boxing match I'd put my money on either of the Klitschkos.

@Nerffle As a person who I guess falls on the """conservative"""-adjacent part of the spectrum, there aren't a lot of Putin supporters. It's just that a ton of people feel like they want to see the Biden administration lose. Remember when Bill Maher said that he hoped for a recession so that Trump looked bad? A lot of common people said "whoa you want me to suffer just so that you can get rid of orange man?". So now they want payback. There's very few people who know Putin outside of the shirtless bear-riding meme photos. The ones who legitinately look up to Putin are full blown schizos.

Once countered, you started claiming all types of behavior are NLP. You've massively changed the subject and strawmanned my point by making this about Yarvin and why should anyone listen to him, when it's completely meaningless to drive the point home. I never said you needed to be taught, I never recommended anyone's teachings. You're incapable of reading basic English, I assume the Finnish language also requires people to understand the context of what they're being told, so speaking English as a second language doesn't excuse you. If you're told, in Finnish, that someone who behaves like X is evidence that they don't behave like Y, I assume that if your retort is asking why listen to X that other Finn is just going to think you're crazy. But that's just me, I've never been to Finland.

You took praise to mean recommendation rather than a simple counter. This isn't double talk. This is you making stuff up in your own mind and now tried to backpedal. I'm not forcing anything. I described someone's history and behavior, which was counter to the way you described NLP, and you somehow forgot this was about NLP and thought you were getting a recommendation. That's more double-talky than anything presented here. I'm not saying you're incapable. I'm suggesting you're probably behaving like this on purpose.

The US military is having trouble recruiting because kids would rather work at McDonald's or Amazon. Meanwhile the Russians in the army often come from areas where there's no McDonald's, no Amazon warehouse, not even a farm to work in.

Russians with connections bought the nationalized industries for pennies on the dollar. They stole from the Russian people, and created the lie that the West stole from them. The perfect heist.

@Rosiestoned I don't understand why you're changing the subject. You want to talk about slave labor, make sure it won't be necessary to produce batteries and solar panels. Sustainability is profitable. Okay. Can you actually guarantee any sustainability and that we won't have to rebuilt everything after 5 years due to changes in technology that embarrass us for being complete morons and investing too early in unproductive tech? Sustainable economy. Okay. Can you guarantee things won't have to be rebuilt and reconfigured? Because if we build things and tear them down, that's not sustainability. How many millions of tons of CO2 are your projects going to require? Probably a lot. If we have to do everything all over again because we plunged head-first into bad technology, we've essentially done more damage to the environment. While you set your sights on the ultra rich, you forget that they promote these changes and it's gonna be us suffering. They won't lose their lunch or champagne. It's us who are going to lose. They'll be eating pancakes made with real eggs, real flour, real milk, etc. It's us who'll be eating things made out of insects. Because of your grandiose plans.

@engin3ar That's not bullying. NATO isn't expanding onto Russia. Russia's neighbors are afraid of Russia and need protection, so they ask for it. NATO having nuclear powers doesn't mean they wouldn't be destroyed in an invasion. A neutral Ukraine is inherently a Russia vassal state. To be truly neutral, Ukraine should have the power to make its own decisions without influence from either side. This means either being militarized to the point that they would be able to equal the Russian military, or having their own deterrence capabilities. So war it is. And now Russia will be humiliated. The West asked, and Russia obeys. They do what they're told.

@rowaystarco First, you have to understand how the federal system works - whatever isn't a federal issue has to be handled by the states. That's how it works. But even if that wasn't the case and the federal government imposed a 24 week limit, you'd still see people screeching about it. The promise that everyone's going to play cool afterwards is just too optimistic.

@rowaystarco No, it's not problematic. It's how absolutist state power is prevented. There's other federal systems in existence in modern societies too. It's also easy to cross COUNTRY lines in the EU. You're subjected to different nationwide laws when crossing Europe. No, doctors shouldn't have control over the law. We don't give police control over the law. We don't give the military control over the law. There's a reason for powers to be separated. Like it or not, one side of the political aisle in the US made abortions a goal. Tell those people that. Abstinence was not mentioned in this conversation so I don't know why you're ranting about it.
