  1. Big brands bring foot traffic to places like malls. That makes rent expensive. If foot traffic declines in a mall, either the operators reduce the cost of renting or the smaller stores leave for cheaper locations. It indirectly targets the richer businessmen by tanking the value of their assets. It's not pretty, but there's a point.

  2. Because there's a ton of trained workers, store managers, branch managers, etc and a Russian corporation that already operated many McD's locations. So it's just a matter of taking over the remaining locations and removing logos, everything had been set up for them.

  3.  @reav3rtm  It's possible that there was an under the table deal or they paid hackers to reverse engineer it. They passed a law that said it's now legal to hack software that was pulled from Russia if it's needed to keep things running.
